Terms of Service

1. Service Overview

Alt is an AI-powered lecture and meeting notetaker application provided by the alt team (hereinafter "Company"). The service consists of a desktop application (macOS and Windows), an iOS application (iPhone and iPad), and a website (altalt.io).

2. Account and Authentication

To use the service, you must create an account using email-based OTP authentication. The authentication system is provided through Supabase.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Subscription and Payment

3.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe. The Pro plan is a $4/month auto-renewing subscription.

3.2 Refund Policy

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact [email protected] for refund requests.

3.3 Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the service until the end of your current billing period.

4. Usage Rules

You must not:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Abuse or place excessive load on the service
• Manipulate leaderboard scores or obtain them through fraudulent means
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the service
• Access another user's account without authorization
• Circumvent or disable any security features of the service

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create, including notes, transcripts, and summaries.

5.2 Company Assets

All rights to the Alt application, branding, logos, AI models, website, and related technology belong to the Company.

6. Shared Notes

You may share your content with others using the note sharing feature. You are solely responsible for the content you share.

You must not share content that infringes on others' copyrights. The Company reserves the right to remove content reported for copyright infringement.

7. Game and Leaderboard

The service includes a game and leaderboard feature. Your scores, nickname, and organization are publicly displayed.

Scores obtained through fraudulent means may be removed, and your account may be restricted.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the service.

The accuracy of AI-generated transcripts and summaries is not guaranteed. You are responsible for verifying important content against the original recordings.

The Company is not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of the service.

10. Service Changes and Termination

The Company may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice. For paid subscribers, refunds for the remaining period may be provided in case of service termination.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea.

12. Changes to Terms

The Company may modify these Terms. Significant changes will be notified via email or in-service notification. Modified Terms become effective on the announced effective date.
